I tried something different today on old cars. I did some HDR shots (3 exp. 1 stop apart) on cars at a stop sign. The idea was to catch them motionless to fire off 3 exposures. Some motion did occur but Photomatix was able to correct this. I did fairly extensive editing on these to get a little creative. These are with the 135mm Canon lens again. Really a nice lens, sharp and fast focus.
These first 2 I used Lightroom, Photomatix Pro and Nik Analog Efex.
These last 2 I used Lightroom, Photomatix Pro, and Nik Color Efex. I also added a summer look (tree colors).
The rest are my normal processing in Lightroom.
I’ve been trying some bird photo’s but boy am I new at this. Went down to San Dieguito Lagoon in Del Mar and found a couple of Egret’s.
In my backyard I saw this Bluebird.
Friday July 24 I set my chair on the curb and shot some of the cars cruising. I used my Canon 60D camera with a Sigma 17-70mm lens. These two were enjoying the evening. I’ve seen them before so I guess this is Friday night out.
Good day today as it was cloudy and thus cool with good light (Not harsh). The primary group tonight was “Over the hill gang” and it has been the best this year so far. That means the largest quantity of really nice cars I’ve seen.
I tried a new set up today which was using a monopod (single stick) with a small ball head on top so I could easily tilt the camera. The monopod is short enough in it’s collapsed state so I could still get low shots with my wide angle 16-35mm lens. Most of the shots are between 16 and 20mm focal length.
There were so many nice cars I can’t include all the shots but here is a sampling. I hope the model years are correct. I had to look most of them up.
